The episode of Absa's podcast The Tech Roast that Laco Šulák and I recorded back in May is published. Here is where to watch it.

Two men sitting on red sofas on a red-lit studio set, talking across a low table holding branded coffee bags and mugs, with a framed show poster reading "The Tech Roast" between them and a burned-in subtitle reading "Yeah, we started with AI,"

Back in May I wrote about recording an episode of The Tech Roast, Absa’s podcast, with Laco Šulák. That post ended with the episode landing “at some point later”. It has landed: watch it here.

We covered four things — where AI actually fits into an engineering process, event-driven architecture on AWS, container orchestration, and async patterns in service communication — and finished on where AI goes next, which is the part that will age fastest.

None of it was scripted. We agreed the areas beforehand, wrote down the positions we each held, noted where we knew we disagreed, and left the rest to the conversation. If you want the longer version of how it was put together and what a studio day looks like from an engineer’s side, that is in the earlier post.

Thanks to Laco, who made the conversation easy, and to the crew who did the lighting and sound work that none of you will notice.
